Profile Search is a powerful tool which allows you to find any permissibly VISIBLE profile (rating and user permission determine this) based on general and/or specific criteria.
You can search by proximity, gender, name etc... but even more important is the capability to search by specific profile type and any of the specific fields inluded in that profile type.
You can search most text fields using 3 or more characters. These do not have to be the first 3 characters, but they do have to be consecutive. For example if you enter 'art' you could find Arthur and Bart and Marty amongst others.
The zip code field must be 5 numerals and you can only search as far away as 99 miles from any particular zip code for now.
All fields are treated as an 'and' field - meaning that all fields must be met for the result to be returned. The more criteria the less results.
You can also search for all by not entering any criteria and selecting search. The big difference between this and 'browse', is that 'browse' only shows profiles with avatars (images) while 'search' shows any profiles
